Fall is here and so are all the best fall activities! As the seasons change, Autumn brings in a ton of vibrant colors and of course, some much-needed cooler weather, making Fall the perfect time to get your families outdoors and immerse them in the wonders of this enchanting season!
With the season offering so many opportunities for family fun and lasting memories, you don’t want to miss out on anything.
So if you don’t know what you plan on doing this fall, don’t worry I got you covered! Here are my favorite 5 fall activities to do this season with my family.
1. Fall Festivals
Most if not all towns and cities offer a community Fall-fest. There are music, games, food, and a whole lot of fun! Attending fall festivals in your community to have your kiddos do some face painting, pumpkin decorating, and enjoy eating delicious seasonal treats.
Check with your community newsletter to get dates for the fall festival closest to you.
2. A Day At The Pumpkin Patch

Visit a local pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. Your littles will love exploring rows of pumpkins, selecting their favorite, and then having all the fun partaking in additional activities most patches have. We’ve gone every year since my oldest was 2 and the memories have not disappointed! Make it a whole day event and don’t forget to get your family pumpkin photos in!
If you’re in the surrounding Houston area check out these local pumpkin patches: Old Time Christmas Tree Farm, Dewberry Farms, and Harvest Season Farms.
3. Harvest Time Fun

Visit an apple orchard and allow the kids to pluck apples straight from the trees. Toddlers can engage in gentle picking, while older children can take on more responsibility. Back home, enjoy apple-themed activities like baking pies or making cider.

4. Fall Family Crafting

Gather the family and create your fall master pieces. Crafting a scarecrow together as a family is not only creative but also a fun way to prepare for the season. Younger kids can contribute by selecting the scarecrow’s attire and accessories, while older children can assist with assembly. Use old clothes and stuff them with hay to create your very own silly scarecrow. The goofier, the better!
5. Get Your Pumpkin Spice On
As the weather cools and the leaves change, gather in the kitchen to create treats like apple pies, pumpkin muffins, or cinnamon-spiced cookies. Have the kids help measure, mix, and stir, releasing the delightful aroma of autumn spices. From rolling out pie crusts to decorating cookies with colorful icing, these activities nurture their creativity and culinary skills. And the best part? The joy on their faces when they taste the fruits of their labor is simply priceless.
Autumn presents a magnificent backdrop for family outdoor escapades, and there’s no shortage of fall activities suitable for kids of any age. Whether you have little ones, school-age children, or teenagers, these activities celebrate the season’s beauty and foster family togetherness. So, gather your loved ones, immerse yourself in the splendor of autumn, and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Happy fall adventures mamas!
