Wedding Business: Grab a Pen, We’re Crossing Off Our Checklist

Hey busy mamas! Last month has been a very busy one with lots of wedding planning activies. For starters… the moment everyone has been waiting for: WE HAVE A VENUE!

Took us long enough, but we got there. We found a venue that fit our astetic and right smack dab in the heart of our city. It’s cute, it’s quant, it’s ours for our wedding day. And the advice I was given is exactly right, once you have your venue it makes the planning process so much easier. We know what we need and what the venue provides us. All in all, I could not be more happier with our choice.

Step 2: Engagment Photos

Last month we also crossed engagement photos off our list of to-dos. We chose our go-to photographer for all of our family photos and have her shoot our engagement photos. She was a blessing and truly works with me to make my vision possible. If you are in the Houston area and need a photographer I highly recommend her: VRuss Images.

For on engagement photos I wanted them to give off city vibes without all the concrete. So we picked the popular Buffalo Bayou park. It has skyline views with a whole lot of greenery to balance it out. Despite it being a popular park, we were able to get some great shots alone even on a Saturday evening.

Steps 3: Bridesmaids proposals

Bridesmaid Proposals

March has also turned out to be the best month for me social-wise. Fun fact: the majority of my closest friends do not live in the same city as me. In fact, my bestfriend lives in a completely different state. But last month I went to Dallas and saw two of my sorority sisters whom I asked to be bridesmaids and my bestfriend came down to Houston for spring break so I planned and event to ask her and my fiancé’s sister to be my bridemaids as well. I made each proposal bag and got them personalized champagne flutes. Each girl said yes and my wedding party is complete!

Up Next…

Our next big wedding to-do is for me to find me dress. And honestly I don’t think I’ve even been more stressed out to find “The Dress”. 😅 I have already started scouting bridal shops for our families and me to visit. So planning is getting a bit exciting!

The Knot Invitations

We’ve also finalized the guest list and are getting addresses for everyone so we can start sending out Save The Dates. Oh! We ordered some sample invitations from The Knot and they were so fancy! The knot lets you pick out a few potential invitations you like and will send the full sample of what all comes with it so you can pick one that best suits you. So the sample invitations let us really see what kind of invitation we want for our big day and how to fit that into our budget. My fiance definitely surprised me by choosing one with a little razzle-dazzle.

With so much more left to do it feels like a good amount of stuff has been crossed of our list. I’m excited to finish the planning process and to officially get married next summer. ❤️

XOXO – A Busy Mama
